Pre-season preparations for the 2026/27 campaign continue at full pace. On Thursday, FC Barcelona's first team returned to the grass at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper for another training session. The workout, led by Barça head coach Hansi Flick, took place on Pitch 2.

Special visitor

The session featured a special guest: Eric Garcia. The defender, who was crowned World Cup champion last Sunday, dropped by Sant Joan Despí to catch up with his teammates. It was a welcome surprise for the players who have already begun pre-season training.

17 youth players involved

The German coach had all available first-team players at his disposal, as well as 17 players from Barça Atlètic and the Under-19s: Orian Goren, Álex González, Hamza Abdelkarim, Ibrahim Diarra, Xavi Espart, Guille Fernández, Toni Fernández, Òscar Gistau, Shane Kluivert, Jordi Pesquer, Ebrima Tunkara, Brian Fariñas, Álvaro Cortés, Tommy Marqués, Jofre Torrents, Iker Rodríguez and Áron Yaakobishvili.

A different kind of Friday

Thursday's workout was the only session of the day. On Friday, the squad return to a double training schedule, but with a twist: in the afternoon, Hansi Flick's side will play a training match against CE Europa.
