FC Barcelona and Ajax have reached an agreement for the player Renee van Asten to join the women's team. The young Dutch defender signs a contract with the Club until 2030.

Renee van Asten is one of the most promising defenders in European Football. After a meteoric rise through the ranks at Ajax and with the Netherlands national team, she comes to Barça to bring her physical presence, her ability on the ball and her defensive solidity to the blaugrana back line.

In 2025/26 Van Asten was one of the breakout stars of the Dutch Women's First Division. At just 19 years old and in her first season at the top level of football in the Netherlands, she displayed precocious talent to win various individual awards, including the Johan Cruijff Talent of the Year prize. 

Van Asten's progress has seen her make her debut for the senior Netherlands team and now she brings her ability in the air and on the ball to FC Barcelona.
