Tonight's Spain v France clash (9pm CEST) kicks off the World Cup semi-finals. Two of the tournament favourites meet in Dallas with a place in the final at stake. Both sides feature Barça representation. Spain boast no fewer than culers: Joan Garcia, Cubarsí, Eric García, Gavi, Pedri, Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal. France, meanwhile, can count on the ever-present Jules Koundé. Whatever the outcome, Barça will be guaranteed representation in the 2026 World Cup final.

With England's Anthony Gordon also in the last four, ten Barça players are featuring in the World Cup semi-finals. That remarkable figure surpasses the previous club record of eight who reached the semi-finals at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

First all-Barça showdown

Fourteen FC Barcelona players have taken part in this World Cup, but Tuesday's semi-final will provide the first direct head-to-head between them. Spain's meeting with Uruguay had Barça representatives on both sides, but the absence of captain Ronald Araujo due to injury meant there was no on-field meeting. In Dallas, however, Koundé will come up against his Barça teammates from the Spanish national side.

Gordon in action on Wednesday

Wednesday sees Anthony Gordon take centre stage in England's semi-final against Argentina. Barça's new forward could help set up a World Cup final featuring Barça players on both sides, something that last happened in 2018, when France had Samuel Umtiti and Ousmane Dembélé, while Croatia featured Ivan Rakitić.

Gordon has been an important player under Thomas Tuchel and heads into the semi-finals having already provided three assists.
