FC Barcelona presents new 2026/27 kit with unique show at the MACBA museum
This evening saw FC Barcelona present the new kit for the 2026/27 season. The event involved a unique show at the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA), which featured dance and music and was conceived around the slogan «Blaugrana heartbeat. The passions that move us».
The Blaugrana heartbeat is the energy driving every play, every shout from the stands and every generation wearing the colours. This passion goes beyond results, it brings players and fans together, drives the Club and is passed on from generation to generation. This concept was the thread that ran throughout the presentation and gives meaning to a new kit that symbolises this emotional bond.
The presentation was conceived as an immersive experience inspired in the emotions shared by players and fans and reinterpreted as an art-form. The show combined contemporary dance, live music and audiovisual piece to recreate the different stages of emotions on game days, from pre-match stress through to joy at the end. Player movements and fan gestures merged on big screens to jointly express this shared beat, symbolising the unbreakable bond between the pitch and the stands.
The event gathered together key figures from culture, sport and entertainment, as well as representatives from media outlets, content creators, and institutional guests and sponsors of the Club. The Club was represented by president Rafael Yuste, vice-president and secretary Josep Cubells and board member-elects Elena Fort, Xavier Barbany, Carme Hortalà and Jaume Santiveri.
It was all part of a story that highlights the jersey as a symbol of unity between the pitch and the stands. The Club wanted to go beyond explaining that emotion by creating a real, immersive and shared experience, making the new kit launch a celebration of blaugrana feeling. The idea is set to broadcast further via a digital campaign, which will be rolled out on all the Club platforms and surrounding ecosystems, from its own channels through to content creators and communities worldwide, as part of an aligned communication strategy, with the aim of bringing this shared emotion closer to the millions of blaugrana fans around the world.
Designed in conjunction with Nike, a Main Partner of the Club, the new jersey is now available via the official Club e-commerce channel and Nike, and it can also be purchased from the Barça and Nike physical stores during normal opening hours from tomorrow. The garment is made with Dri-FIT ADV technology, which optimises transpiration and sporting performance, providing greater comfort and a lighter feel while playing sport.
New Barça typeface
The FC Barcelona first team kit for the 2026/27 season will have a new typeface called FC Barcelona Modernista, which was created exclusively for the Club with a desire to strengthen the bond between its visual identity, the city of Barcelona and the cultural heritage of Catalonia.
Inspired by Catalan modernism, this new typeface brings intrinsic values from this movement to the sporting domain, such as creativity, innovation, uniqueness, and cultural pride. From a formal point of view, it builds in some of its most characteristic visual elements, with stylised shapes, verticality, and organic touches that evoke the graphic language of one of the most influential creative periods in the history of Catalonia.
The back of the jerseys also include lines in the background that add depth, texture and dynamism, reinterpreting the artisan spirit of modernism in a contemporary way. This typeface will be used exclusively for the names and numbers of the blaugrana first team kits. The men's and women's first teams will wear it in the UEFA Champions League, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, while the official typeface of the LaLiga will still be used in that competition.
The new typeface identity will also be used by the Club's other profesional teams, and for the youth categories and the different sporting sections, consolidating a common visual expression that reinforces the feeling of belonging to Barça.
A new feature sees the left sleeve of the kit showing the logo of Midea, the smart household appliances company who become a new Main Partner of the Club from 1 July.
Foundation also to feature
From next season, the logo of the Barça Foundation will feature on the back of the men's and women's football first team jersey in all competitions. This initiative is testament to the Club's historic commitment to social causes and converts the most prestigious European football stages into spaces to resonate the social work done by the Foundation, projecting the values that define Barça as “More than a Club” to the world.
The presence of the Barça Foundation on the jersey symbolises the Club's commitment to raise awareness about it social actions, focused on mental health among young people, protecting vulnerable children, access to education, social inclusion, and responses to the effects of the climate emergency. With over 500,000 children already having benefitted, operations in 23 countries and over 8 million Euro of investment into social projects, the Foundation as such becomes the protagonist of a message of transformation and hope that will reach millions of fans around the world.
