Worst possible start

With just three minutes gone Barça were a man down after a VAR review upgraded from yellow to red a card for Pito. A minute later Marcel put ElPozo ahead and in control of the game in the Palau.

Two goals in two minutes from Ricardo and Dener gave the visitors a three goal lead at half time and gave Javi Rodríguez's men a mountain to climb in the second half. The Palau was on its feet not long after the restart when a a strike from Fits gave Barça hope at 3-1. Chances came and João Víctor had an effort come back off the bar before a goal from Rivera put ElPozo 4-1 up, a seemingly unassailable lead.

Comeback

Barça rallied and Sergio González's goal brought them to within two at 4-2 with seven minutes to go. Matheus' goal three minutes later meant the comeback was on at 4-3 but when Gadeia scored a fifth for ElPozo, all seemed lost. However, in a scarcely believable final few minutes saw Antonio made it 5-4 before a deflected own goal from Gadeia took the game into extra time at 5-5.

Extra time saw the woodwork hit at both ends before the inevitable penalty shoot out. Barça keeper Dídac was the hero of the hour as he saved three spot kicks to give the blaugranes a memorable win in the Palau to go 1-0 up in the final.
