FC Barcelona took an important 100-67 win over La Laguna Tenerife in the Pala Blaugrana to go 1-0 up in the ACB league play-off semi-final. An excellent defensive performance in the first half gave the blaugranes an advantage. From that point onwards the blaugranes dominated the game and kept up an intense pace, which led them to victory in the end. 

The second game of the semi-final tie will come on Thursday 11 June, also at the Palau Blaugrana.

The blaugranes got off to brilliant start at the Palau with Fall and Marcos outstanding early to give the home side a 7-0 lead. An advantage that the blaugranes held throughout the first period to end the quarter 19-11 ahead. 

The start of the second period saw Laprovittola land a three pointer to make it 22-11, setting the tone for the rest of the encounter. That lead stretched to 35-17 by the 14th minute with the Palau crowd in full voice. At half time Xavi Pascual's team led by 19 points at 46-27 with Laprovittola, Parra and Brizuela all outstanding.  

In the second half, points from Shengelia led to a 22 point lead at 59-37, a lead that was extended to 24 points at 74-50 going into the final quarter. The blaugranes maintained control of the contest in the final quarter with Tenerife beaten and extended their lead to 100-67 at the final buzzer, boding well ahead of game two at the Palau on Thursday.
