The league play offs got off to the best possible start for the FC Barcelona futsal team as they took a 4-1 win over Valdepeñas in the Palau Blaugrana. Goals from Fits (2), Matheus and an own goal secured a vital win for the blaugranes on an emotional evening in which tribute was paid to futsal legend Sergio Lozano.

Fits lights up Palau 

Just before five minutes were up, Barça were ahead with Fits picking the ball and firing home with his right foot. Just a minute later the same player picked up an excellent pass from Gauna made it 2-0 to the blaugranes. 

Valdepeñas tried to mount a comeback but Barça stood firm. On 16 minutes Matheus added to the lead for Javi Rodríguez's team with Touré this time the provider. Just before half time the visitors did pull one back with Naranjo making it 3-1. 

In the second half Barça continued to dominate and Gauna's run ended with Alberto putting past his own keeper to make it 4-1. Chances came and went for both side but the scoreline did not move and now Barça face the second game away from home on Monday, kick off 9pm CEST.
