One mission in mind in May
May will prove to be a decisive month for FC Barcelona, as there is a clear objective ahead – lifting the LaLiga trophy. After months of hard work and consistent effort, Hansi Flick's side come into the final stretch of the championship with the league title very much up for grabs. However, it's not a time for complacency, as there is a tough fixture list to navigate first.
Trip to the Sadar stadium to start
Not an easy start to the month at all, with an away match against Osasuna (2 May, kick-off 9.00pm CEST). The Sadar stadium is the first stop en route to potentially claiming the league title. The blaugranes simply mustn't slip up and it's vital they get the three points to ensure they are in with a chance of actually winning the title that same weekend, pending how Real Madrid get on in their match.
Clásico result could confirm LaLiga title
If the title remains unresolved after this weekend, all eyes will turn to the big match this month, no less than the Clásico on 10 May (kick-off 9.00pm CEST). There is likely to be much more at stake than just three points, as a positive result would confirm the LaLiga title win, so the blaugranes will have their destiny in their own hands and with the support of the fans at the Spotify Camp Nou to boot.
Final three matches
Whatever happens in the Clásico, the fixtures will keep coming in May. Just three days later on 13 May, Barça will be at the Mendizorroza stadium to play Alavés (kick-off 9.30pm CEST), always a tough place to go. The following weekend (16/17 May, kick-off TBC) will be the final match of the season at the Spotify Camp Nou against Betis. It will be a special day, as the team and the fans can both bid farewell for another season and it's a chance to potentially celebrate should things go well in the matches beforehand.
The curtain comes down on the month and the LaLiga season on the weekend of 23/24 May with an away match against Valencia at the Mestalla stadium (kick-off TBC), the final game of a season that Barça will be hoping to end as league champions once again.
