Lamine, Rashford and Cubarsí win La Liga awards for April
Trio of awards for Barça as Lamine Yamal has been named player of the month by La Liga, Marcus Rashford has won the La Liga goal of the month award for April and Pau Cubarsí best young player.
Third time for Lamine Yamal
It is the third time that Lamine Yamal has won the award for best player of the month. La Liga named the teenager as the winner in November and December and now with the award for April in the bag after goals in the wins over Espanyol and Celta, the Barça forward records a hat-trick of wins.
Lamine Yamal and Frenkie de Jong were also involved in the goal that took the award for Marcus Rashford. The Catalan threaded a pass through to the onrushing Dutchman, who showed great poise close to the byeline to wait before clipping a great ball in, providing a superb assist for the England international who did the rest, a volleyed shot with the inside of the right foot that went in off the post to top off the derby victory.
The Englishman beat off tough competition to win the award – two wonderful left foot efforts by Sucic from Real Sociedad and Fer López from Celta respectively – but the Manchester man's quality finish was considered the best.
This LaLiga best goal of the month for April was the most recent scored by the forward for Barça as it stands. He has 10 goals so far this season, six in LaLiga, three in the Champions League and one in the Copa del Rey.
Cubarsí, best U23
Pau Cubarsí played every minute of every league game for Barça in April with the key member of Hansi Flick's defence taking the La Liga award for best U23 player for the month.
