Outstanding talent at Barça Academy World Cup
Barça Academy Zurich came to the 13th edition of the Barça Academy World Cup with a competitive squad, featuring some top quality players. Among them, the name Jon Krasniqi stands out, a player who perfectly embodies the values of the Barça methodology.
Constant growth
Krasniqi, born in 2012, has been part of the Barça Academy for several seasons, taking part in as many as four editions of the Barça Academy World Cup. His steady progression has led him this season to make the step up to Grasshopper, one of the clubs in the Swiss capital, where he has already become a key player and serves as captain.
His development has also been evident in the Training Camps, where he has participated on three occasions, at times competing with older players. This year, as a U14, he has trained and competed with the U15 group, further establishing himself as one of the players to watch during the tournament.
Effort, identity and commitment
Beyond his talent, Jon particularly stands out for his work ethic and commitment, values that define his approach to the game. His coaches highlight how he represents the Barça identity through a consistent attitude of hard work and self-improvement, which has driven his progress at every stage of his development.
This progression has also been recognised internationally, as he has been called up to the national U14 team, a pathway that brings together the country’s top regional talents.
Ready for the international challenge
His participation in the Barça Academy World Cup represents the continuation of a journey that began years ago within the blaugrana project. Jon heads into the tournament aiming to compete, enjoy the experience, and continue demonstrating his level on an international stage.
Barça Academy Zurich is thus reaffirming its commitment to developing talent and transmitting the club’s values, showing that the future of football is built on effort, consistency and passion.
