Married in blaugrana in Mexico
The Penya Blaugrana Tampico Madero were front and centre during an unusual yet memorable celebration as member Germán Ruiz got married on 5 February at the Salón Central Andalina de Tampico (Mexico). It proved to be no ordinary ceremony at all, as the supporters' club members converted the event into a tribute to FC Barcelona and young starlet Lamine Yamal.
With their love for FC Barcelona clearly evident, the groom's colleagues prepared several surprises to honour the couple, Germán and Yoselin. As it was impossible to find a cabezudo (carnival figure with an oversized head) of the young blaugrana player, the supporters' club decided to hire one of Leo Messi to be with them throughout the celebration.
In order to recreate the characteristic look of Lamine Yamal, the attendees gave out white sunglasses to all the penya members and guests. What's more, many opted against formal wear to dress up in blaugrana colours, creating a party atmosphere steeped in all things FC Barcelona.
One of the most notable moments was the Champions League anthem being played ahead of the dancing, a symbolic gesture filled with hope that "this year will be the one to win the sixth". The party continued with the song, "¿Y qué fue?", associated with celebrations by Lamine Yamal, before the FC Barcelona anthems "Cant del Barça" and "Un dia de partit", meaning the wedding felt truly blaugrana in the heart in Mexico.
Those attendance said that the atmosphere was totally euphoric, explaining that "everyone celebrated, supported and we all got together and shouted 'Barçaaaaaa!!'. Craziness".
This celebration imbued with passion from FC Barcelona fans will now remain a unique and memorable experience for the Penya Blaugrana Tampico Madero community.
