Tommy: 'I'm living the dream'
Another La Masia player makes his debut. During the recent LaLiga match against Mallorca at the Spotify Camp Nou, Hansi Flick decided to bring on substitute Tommy Marqués. He replaced Fermín after 84 minutes and it was a very special moment for him, as it meant his competitive debut for the FC Barcelona first team.
A dream come true for the Catalan, who had the traditional photo session alongside the La Masia sign today. The young player assured he is "living the dream" while he spoke to the Club's media.
Effort rewarded
Born on 30 October 2006 in Barcelona, Tomàs Marqués — known as Tommy on the pitch — joined the Club in summer 2015 from CE Europa at the U-10 level. He has developed ever since, moving through each youth level for the blaugranes. He began the 2023/24 season on loan to CF Damm, but rejoined the U-18s halfway through the season. He had a significant role in his third year at the level – 23 league games (one goal), seven in the Youth League and five in the Copa del Rey for that level. After winning three trophies, he extended his stay with the Club and moved up to Barça Atlètic.
He had already made his debut for the development side in the first gameweek of league fixtures on 7 September against UE Porreres. He now has 15 appearances with Barça Atlètic, showing consistency and character in midfield. His first team debut came after being named in several squads by coach Hansi Flick.
