The Barça basketball team went down to an 82-78 Euroleague defeat against Fenerbahçe in the Palau Blaugrana. Xavi Pascual's team were always behind in the game and a fourth quarter comeback was not quite enough to turn things around.

Poor start

The Turkish side, coach by former blaugrana Sarunas Jasikevicius, started the game in impressive fashion against a Barça side stuttering on offense. The visitors took a 29-14 lead at the end of the first quarter and despite a Barça fightback, Fenerbahçe were still 53-41 ahead come half time.

In the second half Barça did what they could to reduce the deficit but going into the fourth quarter they were still 17 points adrift at 73-56. In the final period the blaugranes launched a comeback that saw Punter, Brizuela and Vesely combine to bring the side to the verge of an unlikely win but the visitors held their nerve to take an 82-78 win.

Xavi Pascual's team are next in action on Friday in the league against Bàsquet Girona at 7pm CET.
