10 consecutive home wins in La Liga, six years later
Despite last Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at the Reale Arena, FC Barcelona remain in fine form at home in La Liga. With the latest win at the Spotify Camp Nou, 3–0 over Oviedo, the team have won every one of the ten league matches they have played at home so far this season.
More than six years on
Hansi Flick’s side have reached this milestone more than six years after the last time it was achieved, when Ernesto Valverde led his team to a run of 14 consecutive league victories at home between February and December 2019. Only streaks under the same head coach are taken into account for this particular stat.
The current run began when Barça beat Valencia 6–0 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. It was their first home game, as the they had played their opening three fixtures on the road. Since then, they have beaten Getafe (3–0), Real Sociedad (2–1), Girona (2–1), Elche (3–1), Athletic Club (4–0), Alavés (3–1), Atlético Madrid (3–1) and Osasuna (2–0). The last league defeat at home came on the penultimate matchday of last season, a 3-2 loss to Villarreal at Montjuïc (2–3).
Three different grounds
Unusually, this run has been achieved across three different stadiums: the Estadi Johan Cruyff, the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys and the Spotify Camp Nou. At the latter, Barça are still unbeaten in all competitions.
Other streaks
Hansi Flick and his squad have achieved something that had not happened under a single coach since 2019. The most recent managers to achieve it are Ernesto Valverde (14), Luis Enrique (12, between December 2016 and May 2017), Gerardo Martino (10, between August 2013 and January 2014), Tito Vilanova (10, between November 2012 and June 2013) and Josep Guardiola (11, between October 2011 and April 2012).
If we include streaks involving more than one coach, the longest in the club’s history came between February 1958 and November 1960, under Domingo Balmanya, Helenio Herrera and Ljubisa Brocic, with a total of 39 consecutive home league victories. The last time the ten-win mark was surpassed was in 2024, when the teams coached by Xavi Hernández and Flick himself recorded 11 straight home league wins.
