Super Cup and Lamine Yamal celebrated before Barça v Oviedo
The year 2026 began at the Spotify Camp Nou with applause. There was a special moment ahead of kick-off for FC Barcelona v Oviedo, as the Spanish Super Cup win and LaLiga MVP winner for December Lamine Yamal were celebrated.
It's been a few weeks now since Hansi Flick's side lifted the Spanish Super Cup trophy in Yeddah. A first trophy of the season that was celebrated heartily ahead of the first home game of the new calendar year. There were smiles all around in the stands, as fans were happy to recall the win and celebrate the latest award for the FC Barcelona number 10 before the LaLiga match against the Asturians.
The La Masia graduate won award for best player in LaLiga in December, making it now two in a row, and those in attendance to watch FC Barcelona v Oviedo gave him a warm round of applause.
Minute's silence before kick-off
It was also a moment to reflect, with a minute's silence in memory of all those who passed away in the train accidents in Adamuz and Gelida, as well the recently departed former institutional vice-president of the Club Carles Vilarrubí and former player and coach Lucien Muller.
