The Vice-President of FC Barcelona, Elena Fort, took part in the 16th Olympic Forum – Romà Cuyàs Memorial 2026, held at the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum, a leading platform for debate on the present and future of Olympism and the management of major sporting events.

Elena Fort participated in the round table entitled “The management of major sporting events”, moderated by Jordi Fandiño, where she highlighted the role of FC Barcelona as a strategic actor in Barcelona’s international projection, as well as the responsibility of major sports institutions in organising events with global impact and a lasting local legacy.

During her intervention, the Club’s Vice-President underlined that FC Barcelona goes beyond the purely sporting sphere to become a key agent in generating social, economic and reputational impact, contributing to strengthening Barcelona’s position as a leading international sports capital.

The 16th Olympic Forum – Romà Cuyàs Memorial, held on 14 and 15 January, brought together prominent figures from the world of sport and Olympism, such as Juan Antonio Samaranch Salisachs, Vice-President of the International Olympic Committee; Alejandro Blanco, President of the Spanish Olympic Committee; David Escudé, Barcelona City Council’s Councillor for Sports; and Berni Álvarez, Minister for Sports of the Government of Catalonia, among others.

FC Barcelona’s participation in this forum reinforces the Club’s commitment to strategic debate on the organisation of major sporting events, institutional cooperation and the generation of shared value for the city, sport and society.
