A special social gathering took place at the team hotel in Yeddah. As is the norm on trips away and making the most of the opportunity of being closer to regions further away from Barcelona, there was an official reception for FC Barcelona penyes who had made the trip to Saudi Arabia to watch the 2026 Spanish Super Cup.

The meeting was led by president Joan Laporta, and he was joined by Board of Director members Rafael Yuste, Antonio Escudero, Joan Soler, Miquel Camps and Xavier Barbany, plus President Office member Enric Masip.

Penya representatives meeting in Saudi Arabia

Representatives from the Penya Barcelonista Muscat (Oman), Penya Blaugrana Baghdad (Iraq), Penya Blaugrana Shanghai (China) and Penya Barça de Basra (Iraq) were at the reception. Gifts were exchanged, photos were taken and the love for Barça that transcends borders was evident.

There was also a surprise at the end, as first team player Robert Lewandowski made an appearance to greet the fans and have photos taken.

After the event with the penyes, President Laporta and the members of the Board of Directors also met representatives of the Real Federación Española de Fútbol at the team hotel, led by president Rafael Louzán.
