Barça Atlètic 4-0 CD Ibiza-Islas Pitiusas: Big win to begin 2026
A big win against CD Ibiza-Islas Pitiusas (4-0) to start 2026 for Barça Atlètic. Despite the result, the game wasn't easy for Belletti's side, who ultimately went on to win comfortably, with goals from Juan, Cuenca, Toni Fernández and Shane Kluivert.
Control but no penetration
The blaugranes took control of possession from the off, but found creating chances tough all the same. The clearest came in the first few minutes, as Shane Kluivert hit the post when one on one with Edu Frías after a great pass by Dro.
Ibiza grew into the game more from then on and Kochen saved several opportunities. The match became messy and Barça had to try something different. Brian Fariñas tried a long shot after 14 minutes and then individual skill by Dani Rodríguez led to a cross shot that went wide.
Juan and Cuenca score
A goal didn't seem to be coming, but an inspired Dani Rodríguez outside of boot pass saw Juan Hernández go through to make it 1-0 after 43 minutes. Still more to come before half-time, as a Brian Fariñas córner was powered in by Cuenca to extend the lead (2-0).
More goals and… Kochen!
The blaugranes passed the ball more quickly in the second half, taking control of the game and creating chances, one of which saw Toni Fernández receive a slide rule pass before cutting back and scoring inside the far post to make it 3-0 (min 57) with Flick watching on.
Not long after, Jofre Torrents sped down the left flank and put it on a plate for Shane Kluivert to prod in for 4-0. There was even still time to round off the performance even more, as Kochen saved a penalty to conserve the clean sheet and confirm the three points.
Next up, a match against Valencia B U21 on 7 January (kick-off 6.00pm CET).
