Barça triumph at the Globe Soccer Awards
The 2025 Globe Soccer Awards were tinged with blaugrana on Sunday with up to eight awards for FC Barcelona at the gala ceremony which took place in Dubai. Aitana Bonmatí and the Barça Women side were amongst the winners as were Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Hansi Flick after a 2025 filled to the brim with success.
The FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, Lamine Yamal, Alejandro Balde and Board Members Xavier Puig and Joan Soler were present at the gala at the Atlantis The Royal Hotel.
Barça Women and Aitana star
For the third season in a row Barça Women and Aitana Bonmatí were amongst the winners. Pere Romeu's team received the award for best women's team and president Laporta accepted the prize on behalf of the team who did the league, Copa de la Reina and Spanish Super Cup treble last season. "I feel proud to be president of FC Barcelona. We are a reference point in the world of women's football. This award is a way of promoting the Barça players," said Laporta.
Aitana received the award for best women's player for 2025 to add to her collection of Ballons d'Or and The Best Awards, the blaugrana number 14 once again taking the plaudits at the Globe Soccer Awards.
Raphinha takes prize for stellar season
Barça's Brazilian winger picked up the prize for the best player in La Liga for 2024/25. A key member of the squad, Raphinha contributed 18 goals and 11 assists last season in the blaugranes' successful domestic campaign.
Via a remote connection, Raphinha reacted to his award: "I want to thank everyone for this award, it's very exciting to be rewarded for the job I have done. It was a spectacular season but none of it would have been possible without my family, the Barça coaching staff, my team mates and La Liga."
More awards for Lamine Yamal, Flick and Barça
Last season was a very successful one in part thanks to the contributions of Lamine Yamal and coach Hansi Flick. The teenager picked up the award for best U23 player in La Liga from none other than Andrés Iniesta. "It's a proud moment to receive this award from a legend," said the Barça number 10 at the gala in Dubai. Iniesta himself, a Barça player for 22 years, also received a career award at the ceremony.
Lamine's 18 goals and 21 assists also allowed him to pick the award for best striker with Joan Laporta accepting the award for best coach on behalf of Barça boss Hansi Flick. "It's a privilege to have Hansi as Barça coach and team is fantastic - he and his coaching staff are doing an incredible job," said the Barça president.
There was a further award for Lamine Yamal as he took the Maradona Award at the gala. "Now I feel the pressure of being an important player for my club but everything has turned out well. I want to continue on the same path and I don't want comparisons," said the teenager as he smilingly accepted the latest of his awards in Dubai.
