FC Barcelona, after seeing off Guadalajara in Tuesday Copa del Rey opener, are through to the last sixteen of the competition. Fourteen of the other qualifiers have also been confirmed, with the winner of the Granada v Rayo Vallecano game joining them after they play their game on January 6.

In the round of 16, the four teams that are playing in the Spanish Super Cup (Barça, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Athletic Club) will be playing against the lowest ranked sides, always over a single leg against and away from home, which are the following second division sides that all managed to knock out top flight opposition:

  • Deportivo La Coruña (who beat Mallorca 1-0)
  • Cultural Lleonesa (who beat Levante 1-0)
  • Racing de Santander (who beat Villarreal 2-1)
  • Albacete (who beat Celta on penalties)
  • Burgos (who beat Getafe 3-1)

Should Granada beat Rayo, then they too will be a potential opponent of FC Barcelona.
