Tubos Aranda 28-34 FC Barcelona: Increasing lead
The Barça handball team picked another win, away from home this time, taking a 34-28 victory at Tubos Aranda. Carlos Ortega's team were pushed all the way by the hosts in game that was postponed earlier in the season due to Barça's presence in the World Club Cup. The win means the blaugranes now have a five point lead at the top of the ASOBAL league.
Good start
The opening minutes could not have gone better for Barça with a 4-0 lead quickly built. However, the team from Burgos fought back to 6-5 down with keeper Pau Guitart making several important saves to keep the blaugranes from extending their lead.
Nevertheless, Barça slowly edge in front and at half time the visitors held an 18-14 lead.
Second half consolidation
The home side never gave up and they came to within a goal of Barça at 23-22. Coach Ortega called a time out and Barça managed to up the tempo. Makuc, Fabregas and Aleix all scored five goals or more in the win to close out the game in Barça's penultimate away fixture of 2025.
