World Cup draw, in blaugrana
The road to the final phase of the 2026 World Cup is under way. The draw for the final stages of them competition took place this Friday, kicking off an edition that will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, in an expanded format with a schedule that will make the tournament one of the most followed in history. With dozens of national teams involved and a world-class stage, everything points to a World Cup that will once again feature a strong Barça presence, with several blaugrana stars aiming to shine for their respective national teams.
Barça clash in Group H
The squad lists, of course, have not yet been finalised, but we already know the groups where the teams with usual Barça representation have been placed. The Spanish national team is in Group H, where Olmo, Pedri, Cubarsí, Lamine Yamal, Fermín, and Ferran will face Ronald Araujo’s Uruguay, along with Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia.

Very Barça, and more who want to be there
Raphinha, with Brazil, find themselves in Group C, where they will faces Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland. Another Barça captain, Ter Stegen, could be in action for Germany in Group E, alongside Curaçao, Ivory Coast, and Ecuador. Frenkie de Jong, with the Netherlands, will be in Group F with Japan and Tunisia and possibly another Barça squad member from a playoff winner, which with Roony for Sweden and Lewandowski for Poland up against Albania and Ukraine.
France, with Kounde will be in Group I along with Senegal and Norway, and the winner of the playoff between Bolivia, Suriname, and Iraq. Rashford, with England, is in the last group, Group L, with Croatia, Ghana, and Panama. Another team hoping to be there is Denmark with Christensen, which, if they win their playoff against North Macedonia, the Czech Republic, and Ireland, will take their place in Group A with Mexico, South Africa, and South Korea.
