Third time in Mexico
On Saturday 17 January 2026 at 7.00pm local time (2.00 am in Barcelona), Barça Legends are set to play a match for the third time in Mexico in under a year. The 33,000 capacity Morelos stadium will host the match between the team and a group of former Morelia players, the Leyendas de Morelia. The game can be watched live on the YouTube premium channel.
The full list of players who will travel is yet to be announced, but Barça Legends can already count on the services of Rafa Márquez, Javier Saviola and Marc Crosas. Morelia Leyendas will feature players such as Raúl Ruidiaz, Shaggy Martínez, Bofo Bautista and Hugo Droguett, among others.
Third time in Mexico
The match in Morelia will be the third blaugrana visit to Mexico after the games played in Toluca and Monterrey respectively. The first time was in April 2025 against Real Madrid Leyendas in Toluca that ended in a 2-2 draw. A penalty shootout decided the winner after 10 penalty kicks. The second time was in August when FC Barcelona defeated Tigres Leyendas 2-3, with David Villa grabbing a hat-trick.
Who are the Barça Legends?
The Barça Legends is a programme created in 2016, managed directly by the club, which aims to integrate former Barça players through a stable project of professional collaboration with the club. It contributes to the global promotion of the Barça brand by sharing the club’s values through its former stars. Since the launch of the Barça Legends, more than 80 players have taken part in at least one match with the team around the world.
