Another admirable win for FC Barcelona to remain the league leaders. Against a direct rival in Atlético Madrid, Hansi Flick's side came away with a statement win at the Spotify Camp Nou in another game that showed the blaugranes' ability to react. Despite the initial goal by Álex Baena, the team remained united and responded with conviction to turn the scoreline around, with goals by Raphinha, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres.

This latest comeback consolidates Barça as the most competitive team in LaLiga when a match takes a turn for the worse. In fact, no other team in the competition has earned so many points from a losing position – the blaugranes have now earned 15 points in this scenario out of the 37 they have so far this season. A total that reflects the character, personality and ambition of a team that doesn't buckle under adversity.

Fifth comeback

Barça have been involved in five comebacks this season. The comeback against Atlético Madrid was the latest, going from 0-1 to 3-1, but the first was away to Levante, where they went 2-0 down before going up 2-3 with goals by Pedri, Ferran Torres, plus an Elgezabal own goal.

Against Oviedo, the score switched to 1-3 after goals by Eric Garcia, Lewandowski and Araujo. Against Real Sociedad, Kounde and Lewandowski transformed 0-1 into 2-1, while against Alavés, Lamine Yamal plus a Dani Olmo brace sealed a deserved 3-1.

Those five comebacks are even more valuable if you consider the overall context of the competition – there have been 16 comebacks in LaLiga 2025/26, and five were by the blaugranes. No other team has more than two, a clear sign of the level of resilience and strength among Flick's Barça side.

Trend continues

This is not a new trend, rather a continuation of what was seen last season. Barça were crowned champions with 88 points, 18 of which came from coming back in six games across 38 gameweeks – Valencia, Rayo, Atlético Madrid, Celta, Valladolid and Real Madrid.

After playing just 15 games, the team already has five this year, and they continue to show that fighting to the end is part of the blaugrana DNA. A leader who grows, responds and never stops believing.
