Successful turnout for latest session with penyes
Around a hundred penyes from Catalonia, Castellón, Valencia, Alicante and the Balearic Islands connected to the participatory session held on Monday 1 December under the tagline “Direct Line to the Club”.
The meeting was chaired by board member Josep Ignasi Macià, who oversees the Social Area, and the director of the Social Area, Anna Aznar. The speakers were FC Barcelona’s Head of Security, Xavier Porcuna; the Head of the Sports Office of the Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan police force), Andreu González; and Cristian Garcia from the club’s Security Department.
Security was one of the main topics discussed during the session. There was talk about the coordination between the club and the Mossos d’Esquadra to guarantee safer travel. In this regard, the FC Barcelona Security Department explained that a club representative always travels to every away match, and that Penyes can contact this person if needed. Proposals were also collected on how to combat ticket resale and improve the reporting of incidents.
Another central topic was the return to the Spotify Camp Nou: for more than an hour, supporters’ club members had their questions answered. In addition, some Penyes raised difficulties with seat allocations, the management of virtual season tickets, and the need to adapt processes for older members or those with limited digital experience. All issues received responses from the club.
In the coming weeks, this participatory session will be repeated with supporters’ clubs from the rest of Spain and from international regions.
