Demanding December to round off the year
FC Barcelona are looking to round off the year well to start 2026 in the best possible position. December looks to be a demanding month with six games spread across three competitions: La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
Atlético Madrid to kick off
The final month of the year begins with one of those fixtures that could well decided the destiny of the league title. Fourth placed Atlético Madrid visit Spotify Camp Nou on Tuesday in La Liga, kick off 9pm CET, in one of the most attractive match ups of the season. Last season the clubs met on no less than four occasions, including a 4-4 draw in the Copa del Rey at the Estadi Olímpic and and 4-2 away at the Metropolitano in La Liga thanks to late goals from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres.
Betis and Eintracht Frankfurt
On Saturday 6 December at 6.30pm CET, Barça travel to Seville to take on Betis in La Liga. The game will be played at the La Cartuja stadium in the city, Betis' temporary home whilst redevelopment work goes on at their usual home, the Benito Villamarín stadium. Manuel Pellegrini's side always provide a tough test and last season they held Barça to draws in both their meetings in La Liga. Betis have started the season well and the recent victory in the derby against Sevilla leaves them currently in fifth place in the table.
On Tuesday 9 December at 9pm CET Barça face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League. The fixture at Spotify Camp Nou is a must win game for Hansi Flick's side if they want to retain hopes of a top 8 finish in the league phase of the competition and of avoiding the play off round.
Osasuna, Copa del Rey and Villarreal
To close out the year Barça face Osasuna, Villarreal and the beginning of the defence of their Copa del Rey title. The game against the club from Pamplona is on Saturday 13 December at 6.30pm CET. The following midweek Barça will begin their Cup campaign against an opponents to be decided in the draw on Tuesday 9 December at 1pm CET.
The final game of 2025 is also a tough one for the blaugranes. Barça face third placed Villarreal in La Liga on Sunday 21 December at 4.15pm CET at the the La Cerámica stadium to close out the year.
