Presentation in Andorra of the book “Principat Blaugrana: a country with a culé spirit” by Àlex Terés
The Unnic restaurant in Andorra la Vella hosted the presentation of the book “Principat Blaugrana: a country with a culé spirit”, written by Àlex Terés, member of the FC Barcelona Social Commission. The event, attended by Board members Josep Ignasi Macià and Miquel Camps, took the form of a conversation between President Joan Laporta and the author, moderated by Andorra Televisió journalist Joel Romero, and served to highlight the emotional and historical depth of Barça support in the Principality.
Laporta emphasised that “Barça is a feeling”, and that this expresses the Club’s historical, symbolic, sporting, and institutional dimension, present in the lives of millions of people. In this regard, he praised Terés’ book as a collective perspective built from the experiences of generations of Andorran men and women who have helped weave the emotional bond between FC Barcelona and Andorra.
The president stressed that the globalisation of football has not weakened Barça support but has strengthened it, as it is a sentiment passed down from parents to children and from children to grandchildren. “This bond endures because it is part of our identity and shared memory,” he said.
Laporta also highlighted one of the book’s phrases which, he noted, perfectly summarises the century-long relationship between Andorra and FC Barcelona:
“125 years after the founding of FC Barcelona, Andorra remains an openly, predominantly, and unapologetically culé territory.”
The event reaffirmed the vitality of a bond that remains very much alive and forms an inseparable part of the sporting and emotional identity of the Principality.
