FC Barcelona communicates that in virtue of the provisions of article 20.11 of the Statutes, Club member Mr Marc Ciria Roig attended the Barcelona Supporter Services Office today in person to request the inclusion of a point in the agenda for the upcoming Ordinary General Assembly on Sunday 19 October, consisting of “Repealing authorisation for the acquisition by one or more investors of a minority stake in the share capital (up to 49.9%) of the company, Barça Licensing & Merchandising, SL (BLM), approved during the FC Barcelona Extraordinary Assembly conducted online on 16 June 2022”.

The current number of members with passive voting rights is 96,251, with 3% accounting for 2,888 voters. There are 4,641 delegate members, 10% of which means 464 delegate members.

The documentation submitted to support the request consisted of 3,205 records of member data in the following form:

  • Annex 1: Photocopies of a supporting form containing the details and signatures of 2,605 people participating in the proposal, with neither the national ID stated nor a copy of it included.
  • Annex 2: A printout of some Excel sheets with a list of names and details of 600 people (3 of which were repeated), with no reference to the specific proposal and no signatures of any type. This Annex 2 does not fulfil the requisites to certify the support from the members as required by article 20.11 of the Statutes.

Albeit the minimum number required was not achieved and there were no national IDs for the members to confirm their signature is correct, the Club's Social and Legal Area verified Annex 1, with the following outcome:

  • Valid votes: 1,867
  • Votes null and void due to lack of compliance with years of membership (5 years): 452
  • Votes null and void due to being under the minimum age: 25
  • Votes null and void due to not being a member or illegible: 139
  • Votes null and void due to repetition: 121
  • Votes null and void due to no signature: 1

As such, the proposal did not gather enough support to be included in the agenda for the upcoming assembly. All the same, the Club reiterates that selling part of the subsidiary BLM is neither being studied nor intended, as has been publicly stated on different occasions by the Board of Directors.

FC Barcelona will certify the outcomes of the verification in the presence of a notary tomorrow morning, with the applicant having been invited to attend.
