FC Barcelona international agenda
Another break while players are away representing their countries. Here's a list of who is playing when and where
A new international break is here and there are ten Barça players away with their national teams, mostly for 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Rashford, Kounde, De Jong, Bardghji, Cubarsí, Olmo, Pedri, Ferran, Christensen and Lewandowski are the Barça representatives.
So you don’t miss a thing, here’s the schedule for those players.
Thursday 9 October
- Poland v New Zealand (8.45pm CEST). Robert Lewandowski is one of several players will will open the week with a friendly, in his case against Oceania's representative at the forthcoming World Cup at the Silesian Stadium..
- England v Wales (7.45pm local, 8.45pm CEST). A friendly as well for Marcus Rashford, who wants to keep his fine form going for his national team as they host their fellow Brits at Wembley.
- Malta v Netherlands (8.45pm CEST). For Frenkie de Jong there are points at stake in World Cup Group G, and anything but a win for the Dutch in Malta would come as a huge surprise.
- Belarus v- Denmark (9.45pm local, 8.45pm CEST). Andreas Christensen's Denmark will settle for nothing less than a win against a side that has yet to register a point in this campaign. Due to Belarusian involvement in the war with Ukraine, this match is being played behind closed doors in neutral Zalaegerszeg (Hungary).
Friday 10 October
- France v Azerbaijan (8.45pm CEST). The Parc des Princes hosts this qualifier, where Jules Kounde is looking to help France stay top of Group D after two wins from two.
- Sweden v Switzerland (8.45pm CEST). For the first time since Zlatan Ibrahimović, Barça once again have a player in Sweden’s senior squad. Roony Bardghji has been called up for this, and it's a massive World Cup date for the Swedes at the Friends Arena in Solna. After losing to Kosovo and drawing with Slovenia, their hopes of being in North America next summer are hanging on a thread. And the Swiss are top of the group with a 100 per cent record.
Saturday 11 October
- Spain v Georgia (8.45pm CEST). Elche's Martínez Valero is the venue for this one, with Cubarsí, Olmo, Pedri and Ferran all in the squad. After huge wins in Bulgaria and Turkey, Spain are on amazingly good course for the finals, but Georgia are no team to be taken lightly, with several top notch players in their ranks.
Sunday 12 October
- Netherlands v Finland (6.00pm CEST). From Malta to Amsterdam, as Frenkie de Jong and co grace the Ajax’s stadium. Dropped points against Poland in September mean the Dutch are by no means guaranteed a place in the finals, and anything but a win here would make the situation very worrying indeed.
- Lithuania v Poland (9.45pm local, 8.45pm CEST). And that's because Lewandowski's Poland are pushing the Dutch hard. The Poles know it won't be easy to take all three points off their northern neighbours, for when they faced Lithuania at home they only won 1-0 thanks to a late goal from Lewy.
- Denmark v Greece (8.45pm CEST). In one the tightest groups of all, any dropped points could prove extremely costly. Greece, along with Scotland, are one of Denmark's direct rivals for qualification. But after winning 3-0 in Piraeus, the Danes will fancy their chances of collecting another three points here.
Monday 13 October
- Iceland v France (7.45pm local, 8.45pm CEST). Kounde travels to Reykjavík for France’s second game of this October window. They had to battle back from behind to beat Iceland in Paris last month, and it'll be even harder to win now the opposition are playing are at home.
- Sweden v Kosovo (8.45pm CEST). A second home fixture for Roony and co, this time in Gothenburg against a side they lost to 2-0 in Pristina. Sweden have to win this one or their World Cup qualification hopes could be over.
Tuesday 14 October
- Spain v Bulgaria (8.45pm). The José Zorrilla in Valladolid will host the second game of this window for Cubarsí, Olmo, Pedri and Ferran. The Spaniards impressed with a 3-0 win in Bulgaria, and will be hoping for or better in this return meeting
- Latvia v England (9.45pm local, 8.45pm). In Riga, Rashford will be aiming to keep England's perfect record alive, where a win would leave them almost certain to top the group.
