Fresh from Thursday night’s comeback to beat Oviedo 3-1, Barça were back at it on Friday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. At 11.30am, the players who hadn’t started at the Carlos Tartiere took to the Tito Vilanova pitch under the watchful eye of Hansi Flick.

There was good news too, with Alejandro Balde and Lamine Yamal training alongside the group. Meanwhile, the eleven who had featured from the start in Asturias were put through their paces in a lighter recovery session after such a demanding midweek outing.

Eyes on Sunday

Attention has since turned to Sunday evening, when Barça host Real Sociedad at Montjuïc (6.30pm CEST). The clash, part of the seventh round of LaLiga fixtures, will be the second domestic test of the week. On Saturday, the squad will be back in Sant Joan Despí for their final tune-up before taking on the Basques.
