Hansi Flick: 'We controlled the game'
Hansi Flick faced the media after FC Barcelona’s fine win over Getafe at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, praising the efforts of his players in what he described as “a tough game for everyone.”
Despite the challenge, the German coach was clear: “We had to focus on our own performance. We controlled the match. It’s never easy to score three against Getafe.”
Flick also spoke about the demanding fixture list. “Every three or four days we have a game. We need to look after the players,” he explained, referring to his rotation policy. He was quick to underline recent results: “We played a fantastic match last Sunday, and also against Newcastle. That’s what I want to see from my team.”
The coach went on to discuss several individuals, including Raphinha, Rashford, Eric García and Jules Kounde. The Brazilian was withdrawn at half-time because of his yellow card, while Rashford earned praise for his impact on the right wing. García’s versatility was highlighted too: “We have to manage minutes, and having a player like Eric is fantastic.” Finally, Flick expressed his satisfaction with Kounde, who, he said, “always gives 100%.”
