PREVIEW | FC Barcelona v Getafe
Focus returns to La Liga this weekend as FC Barcelona take on Getafe at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Sunday, kick off 9pm CEST. In midweek Hansi Flick's team began their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 win away at Newcastle United so they will be looking to make it a perfect week with a win at home in La Liga against the visitors from Madrid.
Battle in the top echelons
Sunday's game will be no easy task for Barça who come into fixture in second place in La Liga on 10 points from four matches. Both Barça and Getafe took victories in week 4 of La Liga last weekend with the blaugranes demolishing Valencia 6-0 at home and the visitors winning 2-0 against Oviedo.
Record at home promising
Recent games against Getafe have not been easy, with three of those games ending in a draw. Those results, however, all came in the Colisuem Alfonso Pérez, at home Barça have won the last three, most recently thanks to a a Robert Lewandowski goal that gave Hansi Flick's team a 1-0 win at Montjuïc last season. In the game in Madrid, Getafe were able to take a point from the 1-1 draw.
Players out
When it comes to the squads, Hansi Flick has Lamine Yamal, Alejandro Balde, Gavi and Ter Stegen unavailable. For Getafe boss José Bordalás, only Juani Jiménez is missing as he recovers from a knee injury which has kept him out of the league campaign so far.
Liso and Milla in top form
One of Getafe's summer acquisition, striker Adrián Liso brought in from Zaragoza, has been in fine form so far this season with three goals in the opening four games. Midfielder Luis Milla leads the league with four assists so far in 2025/26.
Bordalás also welcomes back experience striker Borja Mayoral after injury for what promises to be a quality encounter in the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
