Hansi Flick: 'We played as a team'
“We did really well.” Hansi Flick was a happy man after Barça’s thumping 6-0 win over Valencia – and with good reason. Fresh from the international break, his side produced a dominant all-round display, leaving the German coach full of praise in his post-match press conference.
Great start
Flick hailed the performance of the whole squad: “The starters were fantastic and the subs made a big impact as well" he said. "Everything went perfectly. From the first minute I saw us playing exactly the way we wanted, and that led to a superb team performance.”
Although he picked out MVP Fermín for a standout display and highlighted the goals from Raphinha and Lewandowski, Flick stressed the collective effort: “Everyone fought hard, and you could see how much they enjoyed playing together.”
Roony and Bernal
The coach also touched on the night’s two big stories – Roony’s debut and Marc Bernal’s long-awaited return. Roony, he explained, earned his start after “a week of excellent training sessions and a great mentality.” As for Bernal, Flick admitted his comeback was “a very emotional and very special moment.”
