Will Clyburn: 'I want to help everyone'
First few days for Will Clyburn in Barcelona as he adapts to the city and to the team. He sat down with the Club's media during the first week of preseason in Encamp, with the first impression that "it's been a good environment". As an experienced player and EuroLeague MVP in 2019, Clyburn can bring a lot of know-how to the team and a sense of calm in tough moments, which he already did with a stunning triple in the last minute of the friendly against Paris Basketball (91-90) in Encamp.
"I think I worked pretty hard this summer and I'm feeling pretty good and I'm ready for the season to start", he went on to say, stressing that he has come to Barcelona to win, and above all, to help the team. "I won't call myself a vocal leader, I'm more of a guy that can lead by example", he added, going on to say "I want to win and I'm willing to sacrifice whatever I have to, to win".
And about his role, he said: "I really can't say now as it's only been a couple of days, but one thing I can say is me being a vet, me being a leader, I can show the guys, but its just to help the guys with what I can do. I've not come here to take over the team, I want to add to the team and help everybody out".
The bond with Toko Shengelia
Clyburn will be sharing a locker room with a great friend in Toko Shengelia. They were both at CSKA (2020/22) and Virtus Bologna (2024/25), and are now together at the Palau Blaugrana. He went on to describe the Georgian, stating "Toko's leadership, his toughness, his mental toughness is going to help any team. And I'm not talking about the basketball part. Just him as a human being is going to bring light to any situation you may have".
