Barça Atlètic 2-0 UE Porreres: Epic victory
Juliano Belletti’s reign in the dugout began in thrilling fashion as Barça Atlètic struck twice in stoppage time to beat UE Porreres 2-0 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. Víctor Barberà and Toni Fernández were the heroes, sealing three points on the opening day of the Segunda Federación.
Dominant start
The visitors sat deep, but Barça dominated from the off. Sama Nomoko tormented down the right flank and Dro Fernández went close from a corner, only to be denied by keeper Socías. Nomoko then rattled the crossbar just before half-time, but the breakthrough wouldn’t come and it stayed goalless at the interval.
Still 0-0
Early in the second half, Porreres threatened on the counter and Aller had to make key saves, including from a free-kick. Belletti’s side gradually turned the screw, with Aziz adding spark on the left and Toni Fernández pulling strings through the middle.
Dramatic finale
Nomoko saw a penalty shout waved away, but Barça never let up. In added time, Barberà finally broke the deadlock with a clinical header from Anaya’s cross (90+1’). Minutes later, Barberà turned provider, releasing Toni Fernández to finish on the break (90+4’) and seal an unforgettable 2-0 victory.
Barça Atlètic kick off their league campaign in style. Next up: a trip to Andratx on Saturday 13 September at 6pm CEST.
