Like every year, the ‘Festa del Gamper Estrella Damm’ marks the moment every FC Barcelona fans can start to dream about the season ahead. It's when the blaugrana squad are reunited again with the fans, who get the chance to see first hand how they are shaping up before the season officially gets underway.

This year Hansi Flick's men will be out on the pitch at Estadi Johan Cruyff to take on Como 1907 (kickoff 9.00pm). As usual, the day will begin a couple of hours earlier at 7.00pm and will include the team being presented to those in attendance from 8.05pm onwards, along with artists putting on shows to suit all tastes, including by Doctor Prats and Lildami, among others. Both the pre-match events and the game itself will be shown live on the FC Barcelona YouTube channel and on local Catalan TV station TV3.

This isn't the first time the Estadi Johan Cruyff has hosted a Joan Gamper trophy match though, as Juventus were the visitors in 2021, with both Barça men's and women's teams playing their Italian counterparts (the first ever Gamper match for the women's team).

There is also something more to the game with Como 1907, as this will be the first time both clubs have met in their long histories, having been founded 125 and 118 years ago respectively. The Italian side have strong links to the blaugranes in their ranks – there is head coach and former player Cesc Fàbregas, former captain Sergi Roberto, who brought an end to eighteen seasons at the Club in August 2024, and defender Àlex Valle, a La Masia graduate who played once for the first team in a friendly.

This edition of the ‘Festa del Gamper Estrella Damm’ comes just before LaLiga kicks off, with Mallorca and Barça facing in each other their first game on 16 August, kickoff 7.30pm. It will also be the first chance for the blaugrana fans to see new additions Marcus Rashford, Joan Garcia and Roony Bardghji.

More than a match

Looking beyond the match itself, those attending will have lots of things to enjoy from different activities through to performances, which all begin at 7.00pm when doors open and run through to when the coaching staff and players are presented to the fans.

Artists such as Lildami, Maria Hein and DJ MON will be livening up the atmosphere prematch. There will also be Fan Cams, a jersey shower, and the other regular interactive activities on the video scoreboard for fans in the stands.

The hotly awaited moment for many fans will arrive at 8:05pm when the team is presented, when they will be able to see the new signings and other first team squad players. There is no shortage of entertainment for those present, including a halftime performance by Doctor Prats, and the ‘Festa del Gamper Estrella Damm’ will come to as close once post-match prizes have been awarded on a day of sport and music.
