Today saw the Palau host Barça v Gran Canaria in the domestic league. With both teams in the hunt for a playoff position, this high-scoring game ended in a 104-90 win for the blaugranes, their third in a row in the Liga Endesa.

Gran Canaria get off to a good start

A slow start for Barça and Gran Canaria took full advantage, with the score already 2-20 after just six minutes. Coach Peñarroya took action and his changes saw the blaugranes react to bring the score back to within striking distance at the end of the first quarter at 18-26.

Comeback in the second

Barça continued where they left off, throws now going in when they hadn't earlier, and a score of 34-20 in this quarter turned the scoreboard back in the blaugranes' favour. The entire team were playing well, and not even 18 points from Shurna were enough to help Gran Canaria quell the comeback.

Visitors trail even further

More from Barça in the third and the lead became very healthy, their advantage growing mainly due to accurate three point throwing from Brizuela and Abrines. Punter also continued to lead the way for scoring, reaching 17 points by the end of the quarter, and his side went into the fourth with a big lead of 81-67.

Victory closed out

The points kept coming and Peñarroya's side ended up surpassing the 100 mark to the delight of those watching on at the Palau. There was also chance for 17-year-old Mathieu Grujicic to make his debut, the fourth this season after Arturas Butajevas, Raul Villar and Sayon Keita.

Next up, the first game of the EuroLeague playoffs against Monaco away at the Salle Gaston Médecin (23 April, 7.00pm CEST).
