To be decided at Montjuïc
FC Barcelona have taken a huge step towards the quarter finals of the Champions League after Raphinha's winner put them in the driving seat at the Stadium of Light. And that was despite playing for more than a hour a man down.
But we are still only half way there. There is still a second leg to be played back at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, when Barça will be hoping to make good use of their one-goal head start.
It is because they finished so high (second) in the League Phase that Barça have the privilege of playing the second leg at home, which will be an earlier 6.45pm CET kick-off in the Catalan capital next Tuesday.
Barça had over 1,500 travelling supporters to will them on this Wednesday, but back in their home stadium they will have what is sure to be a full house in the stands to help them continue what is thus far an unbeaten campaign at home, with wins against Bayern Munich, Young Boys and Brest, and a draw with Atalanta on the final day.
But before Benfica, there's the matter of a Liga fixture on Saturday, also at Montjuïc. The opposition are Osasuna, and that's a 9pm CET start.
