FC Barcelona presents ‘MOVING THE WORLD’, an emotional story featuring the bond between the women's team and their fans

Ahead of Champions League semi-final, club is inviting fans to welcome the team to the Estadi Olimpic at 11.15am

FC Barcelona face Chelsea in the semi-final of the UEFA Women's Champions League this coming Saturday April 20 at 1.30pm CEST in the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, and in the build-up they have released the video ‘MOVEM EL MÓN’ ('MOVING THE WORLD').

The short film reflects the special and highly characteristic bond between the players and their fans, and both those groups are naturally represented within.

NOTHING'S GOING TO STOP US

The message is ‘NOTHING'S GOING TO STOP US. MOVING THE WORLD' and features a grandfather who works at the Ciutat Esportiva, and sees his granddaughter with other boys and girls expressing their gratitude to the women's team. He tries to remember their words to repeat them to the players, but he can't, and ends up being told them via walkie-talkie.

The grandfather represents the club's past, the players the present and the children the future. The video itself is a poignant depiction of how women's sport is changing and especially football, all around the world. Not just one the pitch but also socially, with women now playing a new role in sport.

Barça's women's team has a special bond with the fans because they represent everyone's struggles to find a place. And this strength is boosted by the way that the fans are so unconditionally supportive of the team, right down through the generations, and the way they have organised themselves too and celebrate the different achievements together. The idea of being a 'fan' or a 'supporter' has acquired brand new meaning thanks to this team and its followers, and every game, every win, every attendance record... everything they do seems to break new ground in so many different ways.

Call to welcome players to Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys

FC Barcelona is calling in fans to gather this Saturday at Montjuïc at 11.15am to welcome the players to the stadium, at the usual meeting point of Passeig Olímpic no. 15. This if the ideal way to let the players know that the fans are there for them and to get everyone in the mood for one of the biggest games of the season, where the hope is for yet more records to be tumbled by this inspiring group of players.
