Big day for Lewandowski

Poland and Wales go head to head in a battle for a place in Group D of Euro 24

Robert Lewandowski is one win away from going to Euro 24 with Poland. The Barça striker and his compatriots got the first half of their job done on Thursday when they beat Estonia 5-1, but the hardest part is still to come as they face Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday at 8.45pm CET, with the winners progressing to the finals this summer in Germany.

The Welsh also advanced in emphatic fashion from their semi-final, defeating Finland 4-1, and will also be benefitting from home advantage in this one-legged affair.

Whoever does emerge victorious will be joining France, Holland and Austria in Group D of the finals.

Decisive in the semis

Lewandowski didn't score in the game with Estonia, despite having three shots on target, but he did lay on an assist for Jakub Piotrowski to score the third of Poland's goals. Frankowski, Zielinski, Szymanski and Mets (own goal) scored the others.

Much action

There are plenty of other games with blaugrana interest this Tuesday. Fermín López and the Spain U21 squad are playing Belgium at 7pm CET, and at 8.30pm CET, Araujo's Uruguay and Faye's Senegal will be facing Ivory Coast and Benin, respectively. Then at 8.45pm CET, the same time as the wales v Poland showdown, the two Joãos' have a friendly with Slovenia. And there's more to come at 9pm CET, with Kounde and France hosting Chile in Marseilles, and Germany with Ter Stegen and Gündogan entertaining the Netherlands in Frankfurt. A busy day ends with Spain and Brazil playing at 9.30pm CET.
