Robert Lewandowski still working his magic

No player has been involved in so many goals this Liga season as the MVP of the 3-0 win at Atlético Madrid

Robert Lewandowski is continuing to torment opposing defences. The Polish international posted one of his best performances to date in a blaugrana jersey against Atlético Madrid, scoring one goal, setting up two more and going home with the MVP award. That takes his goal participation tally for the season up to 20 goals, and it's the 13th year in a row that he's done that. Sheer class.

13 goals and 7 assists

The number of goals that Lewy has either scored himself (13) or set up for others (7) is one more than the 19 by both Jude Bellingham (16+3) and Artem Dovbyk (14+5). And on Sunday he also became the first person to be involved in three goals in the same game against Atlético Madrid since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2016.

Most importantly of all, it meant yet another win for Barça at the Metropolitano, at a ground where Atlético had not lost a league game since January 2023, and that was against Barça too. No other side has won so many games against the red-and-whites at their new stadium, where they moved in 2017, and Sunday's 3-0 win was the biggest the mattress-makers have ever suffered there.
