João Félix is living up to expectations and more under Xavi Hernández. He was against decisive against Las Palmas, setting up Raphinha's winning goal for his sixth assist of the season.

That's already more than what was until now his personal record of five for Atlético Madrid in the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons.

Closing in on goalscoring record

João Félix is also knocking them in at a faster rate than he did with Atlético Madrid, where his best tallies were the ten that he scored in the same campaigns, those of 2020/21 and 2021/22, when he played 40 and 35 games respectively.

This season he already has nine goals, the latest precisely at the Cívitas Metropolitano, the home of his former club. One more would equal his seasonal best. And most importantly, 7 of his 9 goals have served to put Bar¡a into the lead in respective matches.
