Barça One, FC Barcelona's new free streaming platform, to launch with Araujo documentary

Story of the Uruguayan's rise to fame, highlight of new OTT being released in the next few weeks as the go-to service for blaugrana content and a new source of income for the club

In full awareness that the future of entertainment will be about culture and audiovisual production, FC Barcelona is proud to announce the launch of Barça One, a new free, worldwide OTT service offering top quality content on a Barça theme. The project democratises the club's video material by making it available for free around the planet, something unprecedented until now.

Barça One will start broadcasting in the next few weeks, and is the natural and necessary evolution of Barça TV+ that will ensure that the club stays at the forefront of the entertainment industry. The free service will be advertisement-based and will not require registration, but there will also be the option of paying to watch without advertising, which is something FC Barcelona members will get for free.

Live content

Barça One will be able to draw on over 1,500 hours of material from the Barça TV archives (games, shows, reports, historic content, etc.) as well as a new selection of programmes with the latest Barça info, including live broadcasts, press conferences, original content and much more.

The new platform will also be an important source of income for FC Barcelona and a means to promote the club's name all around the world.

“Origins | Araujo”, first documentary on Barça One

The first exclusive Barça One content will be “Origins | Araujo”, a documentary all about Ronald Araujo that is being premiered to the media this Wednesday in Espai Texas, Barcelona.

The 40-minute programme explores the roots of the Uruguayan defender, including a visit to his homeland of Rivera, and looks in depth at the player's family, personal and professional background and the ways they have impacted his career. It was by no means an easy journey to stardom at FC Barcelona, with a host of challenges to be overcome along the way. “Origins | Araujo” features interviews with the people who know Araujo best and most influenced his life until his arrival in the Catalan capital in 2018.
