Barça train in the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona

Xavi Hernández's team work out at the venue for Wednesday's game against Napoli

All set for the Champions League in Naples. FC Barcelona trained on Tuesday evening ahead of the first leg of their last 16 tie against Napoli, and they did so at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, the venue for Wednesday's contest and one named in memory of the Argentinian footballing legend who played for both clubs.

Xavi Hernández named his squad on Tuesday morning with 23 players making the trip to Italy, including João Félix and Sergi Roberto who were both passed fit for Wednesday's game.

For most of the Barça players it will be first ever visit to the famous stadium with only Ter Stegen, Araujo, Pedri and De Jong having visited before in a Barça shirt. Lewandowski has played against Napoli away from home for Borussia Dortmund as has João Cancelo in his time in Serie A with both Inter Milan and Juventus.

FC Barcelona met Napoli in the Champions League in 2019/20 and in the Europa League in 2021/22, coming out on to over two legs on both occasions.
