Vitor Roque's first day in Barcelona

Brazilian arrives first thing Wednesday morning and among other activities, takes his medical and poses for the traditional photo with the crest

Vitor Roque is in town! The 18-year-old Brazilian international forward, who has joined FC Barcelona from Athletico Paranaense, has had a pleasant but busy first day as a Barça player in the Catalan capital.

His first stop was the Ciutat Esportiva, where he took his routine medical tests, including measurements of height, weight, body mass index, heart rate and effort, as well as resonance. He also had a number of digital media duties to attend to, including his first interview with the club's own media, where he described what was happening as "a dream come true."

Straight after lunch, at 4pm CET, Roque's next stop was the traditional photo in front of the famous Barça crest outside the club offices, with a huge gathering of press photographers there to catch the big moment, all going to show just what huge expectations have been aroused by the Brazilian teenager's arrival in Europe.

He was then given some time to get some much needed rest and to get over the jet-lag following the long flight from Brazil. Today he was naturally looking a little weary, but things should be very different on December 29, when he will have had a bit more time to settle into his new surroundings and when he will be meeting his new team-mates and getting down to his first training session at his new club.
