FC Barcelona activates 'Security and Control Protocol for Visiting Supporters' for Royal Antwerp fixture

Club calling on all away fans without tickets not to travel to Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, and Belgians supporters will not be able to seat outside of their designated zone

FC Barcelona face Royal Antwerp in the first game of the Champions League group stage this Tuesday at 9pm CEST, and will be implementing the security ans control measures on ticketing for away supporters as established by the Board of Directors last season for games categorised as high risk.

The club is calling on all away fans without tickets not to travel to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys because there is no possibility of purchasing a ticket outside the stadium. Only visiting supporters with tickets purchased via their club will be able to enter the away zone and no other.

The aforesaid measures are as follows:

  • The rickets are in the name of the bearer.
  • Antwerp fans may not be seated anywhere other than the away zone.
  • Tickets sales to Belgian IP addresses and to Belgian credit cards have been blocked.
  • The website has carried a message stating that tickets can only be sold to FC Barcelona supporters.
  • Clothing and other items identified with the visiting team cannot be worn, carried or displayed outside of the away zone.
  • Fans must carry their ticket and identity documents at all times and show them when requested.
  • Gate 8 (called 8V on tickets) is exclusively for use by visiting fans.
  • No tickets will be on sale at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
  • Antwerp supporters should not travel to the stadium because there will be no way to purchase tickets outside the ground.
  • Tour operators are not allowed to sell tickets to away supporters either.

Recommendations for club members and fans

The club has a series of instructions to ease the flow in and out of the stadium and in the environs of Montjuïc. These include those that are already familiar for games at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys such as the need to get there early. The stadium gates will open a full hour and a half before kick-off and access in private vehicles to the area around the stadium will be restricted. Four-wheeled motor vehicles will not be able enter the area unless they have an official pass. The traffic police will withdraw any improperly parked vehicles. Up to 3,500 motorcycles can park in the area around the stadium. Motorbikes must enter the zone via Avinguda Miramar, turning left when they reach Doctor Font i Quer.

Fans are advised to get to the stadium on foot or on public transport. There will be a free shuttle service, as well as the metro and the funicular train. Fans are advised to leave private vehicles as far away from the stadium as possible, to print a hard copy of their tickets and to use the correct gates into the ground. Also, please note that there are no locker facilities to leave items.
