Iker Goujón joins Barça Atlètic

Winger returns to the club on a one-year contract after a spell with Villarreal B

FC Barcelona has reached an agreement for Iker Goujón to join Barça Atlètic. The forward who was born in Tarragona on 11 September 11 1999 has arrived as a free agent from Villarreal B and is signing for one year through to 30 June 2024.

The new Barça Atlètic player took his routine medical at the Ciutat Esportiva on Friday and posed in the Estadi Johan Cruyff wearing his new colours. Shortly, he will begin training under the orders of Rafa Márquez.

Back in blaugrana

Goujón played youth football for Sant Pere i Sant Pau, La Floresta and Santes Creus before entering the Barça academy in 2012, after which he joined the Reus reserves, and after spent two years with Andorra before playing for Villarreal from 2021 and helping the side into the second division. He's now back at FC Barcelona.

Despite being left-footed, he prefers to play on the right, and is particularly good at taking on defenders one-on-one. He played 28 games in the old Division 2B and 10 in Primera Federación, scoring six goals. He also made three appearances in the Copa del Rey, three in the second division promotion play-off and one in LaLiga Smartbank.
