Historic six out of six

For the first time ever, all of the pro sports teams have won their domestic championship

One hand is not enough to count all the leagues that Barça have won in 2022/23! After the futsal team won their title on Friday night, it means the club has done something unprecedented. All six pro sports teams are domestic league champions!

Handball first

The handball team set things rolling when they won their league on April 4 after defeating Recoletas At. Valladolid. Incredibly, they did it with seven games to spare!

And then the football teams

26 days later, it was the turn of the women's football team to win their league, also with games in hand, in their case four. It was the fourth time in a row that they had been proclaimed champions.

And a matter of days later, a 4-2 win at Espanyol was enough for the men to win their league for the first time in four years. In a year that they made history with their amazing defensive stats, Ter Stegen was the goalkeeper with the best record and Lewandowski was the top goalscorer.

Roller hockey, basketball and futsal sweep their finals

The remaining three teams all had endseason playoffs to navigate, and they all ended up reaching the final and winning 3-0. The first to do so was the roller hockey team against Liceo.

Then the basketball team won all three against Real Madrid to claim the second ACB league in three years and the 20th in total.

And finally on Friday night, the futsal team completed the set by seeing off Jaen to win their seventh league title.

Unprecedented

The nearest Barça have come to the feat before was when they won all four pro league titles that they opted for in 1998/1999. But in those days there were no pro futsal or women 's football teams.

The women's team was added in 2002 and the futsal team in 2006, and since then the best Barça have managed has been five out of six in 2011/12 and 2000/21, when they won every title apart from men's football.

But this year, six out of six! Simply extraordinary!
