Jordi Alba, Gavi and Ansu Fati are only one win away from being crowned Nations League champions. The Barça players played key roles in Spain's 2-1 win over Italy in the semifinal. Alba captained a side including Gavi, while Ansu came off the bench in the 74th minute with the result still in the balance.

This third edition of the Nations League comes to a conclusion with the grand final this evening when Spain play Croatia (8:45pm CEST kickoff). Both sides will be first time winners, after Portugal and France won in the 2018/19 and 2020/21 seasons respectively.

Previous title winners with Barça connections

Only one player has won this European trophy while currently playing for the Club - Nelson Semedo, who represented Portugal in the first edition of the tournament in the 2018/19 season. The former Barça full-back played every minute of both games in the final phase of the tournament.

Jules Koundé is also a Nations League winner, helping France win the second edition of the tournament. However, we still hadn't joined FC Barcelona by that point.

Third place up for grabs for Frenkie de Jong and the Netherlands

This afternoon will see the Netherlands take on Italy, with the winners taking the bronze medal (kick off 3:00pm CEST). Frenkie de Jong played the full 120 minutes of the semifinal against Croatia, but the side led by former Barça coach Ronald Koeman ultimately lost the game 4-2 in extra time.
