Barça 11–1 Pas Alcoi: Commanding start to the play-offs

The Catalans overcome the Valencians in the first leg of the OK Liga quarterfinals on the day Aitor Egurrola's jersey is retired

The Barça roller hockey team have won the first OK Liga quarterfinal game against Pas Alcoi by a resounding 11-1 at the Palau Blaugrana.

This was also a very special occasion, as Aitor Egurrola's jersey was officially retired after the game. A roller hockey legend at Barça, he has won the most titles as a player in the Club's history. All witnessed by the biggest crowd of the season at 2,853.

Early goal for the visitors

Pas Alcoi struck first on this celebratory day after a great shot by Gonzalo Pérez in just the second minute. Barça immediately reacted though, equalising through Joao Rodrigues on the next play.

The Catalans were now in control and Ignacio Alabart made the most of an error by the Valencians' defence to score easily after 10 minutes. The Barça captain, Sergi Panadero, then dispatched a bouncing ball to go into the break with a 3-1 lead.

Sentenced in the second half

The home side's dominance continued in the second half, first Pau Bargalló scored two in less than 10 minutes to make it 5-1. The visitors then fluffed a direct free hit and Barça made the most of the mistake through Sergi Llorca for 6-1.

Marc Grau joined the party with a couple of goals, before Joao Rodrigues, Pau Bargalló and Alabart scored to make the final score of 11-1. A great result that leaves Barça in a commanding position for the second game on 21 May in Alcoy with a semifinal place the prize.
